Caramel apple parfait

I love fall and and i'm sure I've said this 1 million times but I really love fall, so I think of apples and caramel A lot so I came up with this recipe a few days ago when I was to lazy to cook anything else but I was so pleased with the out come I have to share it with you!!

1 medium sized apple( My favorite is Granny Smith, but I only had fuji in the house that day)
1 6oz container of yoplait light apple turnover yogurt
 1/2 tablespoon marzetti cinnamon caramel
 2 Tablespoons of oatmeal
 1 Teaspoon brown sugar

First take the oatmeal and put in a small frying pan along with the brown sugar, this will toast the oatmeal a bit and give it a sweet taste, keep moving it around other wise the oatmeal will burn, keep it on the heat until it looks like the brown sugar is starting to melt when it touches the pan, once the oatmeal is done take it off the heat, Next chop up the apples into small cubes, Now we'll start layering our parfait, First take a heaping spoonful of yogurt for the bottom then take some of the apple and put on top of the yogurt now take a little bit of the oatmeal and the caramel to top it off, and repeat until your done!

Junk Food...

So with this topic in mind I'd like to say I'm not apposed neither am I for junk food, I think if everyone were to grab an apple instead of that candy bar we would not have the problems we do today in our society, but that is not always the case and lets face it are you really going to say I don't like any kind of junk food??? I think NOT and that's just me. my obsession is chocolate if I could I would swim in a swimming pool of dark chocolate(my personal favorite, not because it has health values it just tastes better to me). So here are my favorite picks of mine tell me what you think!!

Chocolate: I like the little miniature dark chocolate candy's like the ones you get from Halloween they are about 40calories a piece and you get that chocolate fix everyone needs. Now another must have for me at least is York peppermint patties... ummm... Only 140 calories per candy and it's minty and chocolate my favorite combination!!

Chips: This is a tricky topic for me because i'm not much of a person that likes chips very much, I would suggest though 100calorie packs, or I have heard Pop chips are wonderful I haven't seen them in my area yet that's why i'm not to sure. I like the idea though on the 100 calorie portion controlled snacks!

Soda: Yes it had to be said, Soda is hard to say I would go with diet soda if you need that soda taste. My absolute favorite thing to do just recently is to take a no calorie drink mix, and mix in with club soda, it ROCKS!! There are tons of flavors to choose from also!! (Yes get excited!!)

I will be adding more junk foods for you and recipes soon in the future! I live in a small town so the variety on food is not huge, I can't ever find things I want, for example it's hard to find fat free cheese any where around here! Even the produce isn't the best but I find things that look good each week and go by that. When it comes to junk food though I go on the internet and check out things like that.

Pizza please

So I have finally joined twitter and have about 155 followers pretty exciting for signing up around midnight last night! So thanks to one of my followers the featured food today is PIZZA! Yes I know i'm excited too and most of the time i'm always excited about something! This pizza is all homemade and absolutely rocks, I love homemade things you don't get the chemicals and other things you would get if you bought a frozen pizza at the store. So get the rolling pin out and get the oven preheated, and start COOKING!

Pizza Crust

1 package dry active yeast
1 cup hot water
1 teaspoon sugar or a packet of stevia
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
2 tablespoons I can't believe it's not butter light
2 1/2 cups all purpose flour or whole wheat flour

Now start off by putting the yeast in a big bowl add the hot water, sugar or stevia, salt, onion and garlic powder, I can't believe it's not butter light, then mix together until the yeast has mainly dissolved in the hot water then slowly start adding the flour, when you add all the flour start kneading into a doughy consistency once it has reached this point let set for 5-10 minutes, then use a rolling pin roll the dough flat and put on a pizza pan or a cookie sheet, what ever it will fit on. Set a side to get remaining ingredients ready.

Pizza Topping
5 pieces center cut bacon
1, 14.5oz can of Italian Diced tomatoes
1, 7oz bag Kraft fat free mozzarella cheese
2 cups of spinach, raw

Cook the bacon all the way and chop into little pieces, drain the tomatoes, and chop up the spinach, Next take the pan with the crust on it and spread the tomatoes evenly all over the crust next sprinkle the bacon and the spinach all over the crust then top it off with the cheese. Now put in the oven at 400 degrees for 20 minutes or until crust is golden brown, and then cut into 10 even pieces! Enjoy

It was raining here today and all I could think about is some nice comfort food!! Even If the weather isn't rainy where ever you are who could say no to a bowl of chili especially when fall is slowly approaching!!
Makes about 12, 1 cup servings
Calories: 169 per 1 cup

Chili

1 packet of chili mix
1 cup onion
2/3 cup green bell pepper
1 8oz can mushrooms
1c tomato sauce
1 14oz can of chili ready tomatoes
20oz lean steak
1lbs. pinto bean

First cut the steak into 1in pieces, then dice both the onion and the green bell pepper, drain the can of mushrooms and start throwing everything except the pinto beans  in the crock pot, now put on low for over night, or 3-4 hours for quick chili. Now take the bag of pinto beans rinse them of and place in 6-8 cups of water in a separate pot( some people would rather use the easy way and use canned ready beans that's fine too!Do this for the quick chili.) let the beans set over night till softened,  after softened drain excess water out and put beans in crock pot and let set for 3-4 hours till the beans are soft enough to eat. 1 hour before ready add 3 cups of water and stir.
